Dyreassistert terapi i sykepleie

Abstract

NORSK: Studiens bakgrunn: Demente og pasienter med depresjon og angst er store grupper pasienter som har et stort behov for behandling som kan fremme selvstendighet, trygghet og positive aktiviteter i hverdagen. De kan være kompliserte å behandle, og trenger kanskje behandlingsformer som kan bidra til en positiv hverdag og eventuell helbredelse. Studiens hensikt: Oppgavens hensikt var å se på om dyreassistert terapi kan være en metode som kan brukes i sykepleie til pasienter med demens, depresjon og angst. Resultat: resultatet viser at dyreassistert terapi kan være en sykepleiemetode til denne pasientgruppen. Hunden kan representere trygghet og ro, og forholder seg til pasientene på en måte som ikke stiller krav til det å klare å uttrykke seg med ord. Den kan være en kilde til aktivitet, sosial omgang med andre og en mening med livet. Konklusjon: dyreassistert terapi kan være en metode som kan brukes i sykepleie, men det trengs mer forskning på kontinuerlig behandling for å se om det kan ha en vedvarende effekt.
