Directrices de la actuación en la lumbalgia. Medicina de urgencias y emergencias.

Abstract

Low back pain represents one of the main public health problems worldwide, as it is one of the leading causes of disability and socioeconomic impact, generating a high number of demands for healthcare attention, resource spending, and sick leaves. It affects people of all ages and backgrounds. To properly address this condition, guidelines for the management of low back pain have been developed. These guidelines are evidence-based recommendations for the management of this pathology. These guidelines are important to help us standardize the management of this pathology and ensure quality care. A review of the current guidelines for the management of low back pain is necessary for various reasons. Firstly, there are regular updates as new research on low back pain emerges; this is a way to present this information to healthcare professionals so they can use the most up-to-date and accurate recommendations. Secondly, a review of this pathology can identify areas where improvements are needed and highlight obsolete practices.
