Abstract

La novela latinoamericana contemporánea se enfrenta a situaciones sociales y políticas muy distintas a las que caracterizaron al ámbito social, político y cultural de las décadas anteriores al cambio de siglo. Sin embargo, a pesar del cambio de contexto, la narrativa producida en América Latina sigue incluyendo elementos que pertenecen a la tradición literaria, como por ejemplo, la búsqueda de la identidad a través del lenguaje y de la innovación expresiva. Este estudio se propone analizar el uso del lenguaje hecho por Yuri Herrera en sus dos novelas Trabajos del reino y Señales que precederán al fin del mundo para delinear cómo se construyen las nuevas identidades fronterizas en la literatura latinoamericana contemporánea a través del lenguaje.
