La motivazione

Abstract

Obiettivo principale di chi studia la motivazione è quello di scoprire mete, desideri, scopi – in sintesi – ciò che muove il comportamento, lo direziona e lo rende possibile. Le teorie sulla motivazione cercano di spiegare il “perché” di un comportamento, e indagano i processi che spingono gli individui ad agire in certi modi piuttosto che altri. Approfondiremo le diverse teorie che definiscono la motivazione nella prima parte del capitolo. Osserveremo come la complessa relazione tra fattori interni all’organismo e fattori esterni concorrano alla determinazione del comportamento e come quest’ultimo sia subordinato sia a processi biologicamente radicati (per esempio gli istinti) sia a processi cognitivi (per esempio la valutazione della situazione o l’anticipazione della meta).
