Abstract

Objetivo. Comprender las razones subyacentes a la preferencia por terapias alternativas en una población específica de psicólogos. Método. Estudio cualitativo fenomenológico, se recopiló información por medio de entrevista semiestructurada a psicólogos profesionales que practican terapias alternativas. Resultados: Los psicólogos entrevistados eligieron las terapias alternativas de Reiki, Constelaciones Familiares y Registros Akashicos, debido a experiencias personales y amor por el conocimiento. Los participantes destacaron la importancia de trabajar en sí mismos antes de aplicar cualquier tipo de terapia. Además, se pudo observar hasta cierto nivel la eficacia de las terapias siendo ellos los primeros pacientes que validan su eficacia, concuerdan con que hay ciertos aspectos que se deben tener en cuenta como profesional al momento de ejecutar las técnicas. Conclusiones: El estudio revela que los participantes concuerdan con que estas técnicas pueden funcionar con un factor complementario a la formación psicológica.

Objective. To understand the reasons underlying the preference for alternative therapies in a specific population of psychologists. Method. Qualitative phenomenological study, information was collected through a semi-structured interview with professional psychologists who practice alternative therapies. Results. The psychologists interviewed chose the alternative therapies of Reiki, Family Constellations and Akashic Records, due to personal experiences and love for knowledge. The participants emphasized the importance of working on themselves before applying any type of therapy. In addition, the effectiveness of the therapies can be observed to a certain level being them the first patients to validate their effectiveness, they agree that there are certain aspects that must be taken into account as a professional at the time of executing the techniques. Conclusions. The study reveals that the participants agree that these techniques can work with a complementary factor to psychology training
