The characterization of the elastic properties of the sub-soil can be done using seismic methods in order to support sub-soil studies in the extent of geological and geotechnical engineering. This work happened on leaning methods in the generation/propagation/reception of P waves (compressional) and S waves (shear) in field rehearsals. The synthesis work reveals the state of the art of shallow seismic prospecting and the accomplished experimentation allows to identify and to overstep a group of problems associated to data acquisition and processing methodologies from seismic refraction to reflection.
