Abstract

Since beginning of the century, Argentina has been working to strengthen its commercial ties with countries in Europe and Asia mainly. In these continents, there are large economies that can be potential customers for many of the primary products or commodities produced by this country, such as oil, minerals, livestock and unprocessed agricultural products. However, this could have consequences such as “productive reprimarization”, which is a complex process that implies the reorientation of the resources of an economy towards activities with lower added value content, generally primary-extractive activities (Slipak, 2014), something that can be positive for the region's economy in the short term, but in the long term, it can become an economic dependence on minerals and oil, non-renewable resources that leave a high negative impact on the territories.
