Coherencia en las variedades en formación. Efecto de las variables mesosociales y de pequeña escala en el uso de la variedad intermedia en el sur de España

Abstract

En esta presentación se muestran resultados correspondientes al análisis de dos variables fonológicas que forman parte de la variedad urbana de clase media en formación en Andalucía (Villena y Vida 2017). Por un lado, una variable en el ataque silábico: la escisión fonemática de /θ/ (Molina García 2019). Por otro lado, una variable en la coda silábica: la resilibifación y posaspiración de /s/ + /t/ en interior de palabra (Vida Castro 2018). Ambas variables surgen en la convergencia del andaluz hacia el estándar de España como cambios prestigiosos. A la vez, pretendemos llamar la atención sobre el carácter complementario de las aproximaciones unilaterales (estudio en profundidad de la variación de una sola variable) y multilaterales (análisis multivariante de una variedad). Las investigaciones multilaterales sobre la coherencia de las variedades (Guy y Hinskens 2016; Tsiplakou y Cerruti 2019) muestran cuantitativamente la forma y estructura de los dialectos. Los estudios unilaterales cuantitativos sobre variables particulares profundizan en el detalle de la variación y son capaces de descubrir modificaciones, cambios y reinterpretaciones estilísticas (Eckert 2012).
