En el presente trabajo se desarrolla un análisis de métodos y tiempos aplicados al proceso de empaque de muebles modulares, con el propósito de establecer propuestas de mejora en el proceso que permita la disminución del tiempo de las actividades incrementando la productividad de la empresa. El enfoque metodológico de este proyecto busca realizar un análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo, que permita identificar las falencias y puntos críticos del proceso de empaque de muebles mediante la recolección de datos a través de observaciones directas e indirectas en el proceso. El desarrollo del trabajo consta de tres etapas, las cuales giran en torno a la familia de productos closets, las etapas son: análisis de la situación, observación directa no participativa y recolección de datos, diagnóstico inicial del problema y, representación y análisis de los resultados. La recolección de información inicia con el reconocimiento a través de la observación y documentación de las operaciones que se realizan en el área de empaque, se procede a conocer cada uno de los procesos de las áreas de la línea de muebles con el fin de identificar fallas y/o anomalías que afecten, atrasen o detengan la efectividad de dicho proceso. En esta etapa, se identifica el tipo de closet más producido mediante gráficos estadísticos con la información recopilada de los últimos meses, se revisa la distribución de la línea de empaque y la maquinaria y/o equipos utilizados dentro de la línea de empaque para determinar a cabalidad la situación en estudio. En la segunda etapa previamente se realizaron observaciones a la línea de empaque sin intervenir en el proceso, se tomaron notas, videos y fotos para analizar el proceso objeto de estudio mientras la línea realiza su actividad de empaque, también, se tomaron tiempos del transcurso de estos procesos de empaque, así, se establece el método actual y los tiempos empleados para el desarrollo de las tareas en el área, para poder determinar actividades a eliminar, secuenciar y combinar de manera que se minimicen tiempos improductivos en el momento de empaque de los muebles. Posteriormente, se propone un nuevo método de operación que permita una mayor estandarización del proceso, complementando los tiempos que afectan el proceso, tales como, suplementos y la valoración del desempeño de los colaboradores. Por último, se procede a tabular la información recopilada y a alinear cada uno de los objetivos con las variables a tratar y las técnicas de análisis aplicadas. Posteriormente se propone en la línea de empaque la aplicación de estrategias de mejora y se determinan los tiempos del transcurso de estas actividades, luego, se realiza una comparación del método actual con el método propuesto, para así, dar respuesta a la propuesta que orienta el desarrollo de este proyecto

The present work develops an analysis of methods and times applied to the process of packing of modular furniture, with the purpose of establishing proposals of improvement in the process that allows the decrease of the time of the activities increasing the productivity of the company. The methodological approach of this project seeks to carry out a qualitative and quantitative analysis, which allows for the identification of the shortcomings and critical points in the furniture packing process through the collection of data through direct and indirect observations in the process. The development of the work consists of three stages, which revolve around the closets family of products, the stages are analysis of the situation, non-participatory direct observation and data collection, initial diagnosis of the problem and, representation and analysis of the results. The collection of information begins with the recognition through observation and documentation of the operations that are carried out in the packaging area, we proceed to know each of the processes of the areas of the furniture line in order to identify faults and / or anomalies that affect, delay or stop the effectiveness of that process. At this stage, the most commonly produced type of Closet is identified through statistical graphs with the information gathered in recent months, the distribution of the packaging line and the machinery and/or equipment used within the packaging line is reviewed to fully determine the situation under study. In the second stage, observations were previously made to the packing line without intervening in the process, notes, videos and photos were taken to analyze the process under study while the line performs its packing activity, also, times were taken from the course of these packing processes, thus, establishing the current method and times used for the development of tasks in the area, in order to determine activities to eliminate, sequence and combine so as to minimize unproductive time at the time of packing the furniture. Afterwards, a new operation method is proposed that allows a greater standardization of the process, complementing the times that affect the process, such as, supplements and the evaluation of the performance of the collaborators. Finally, we proceed to tabulate the information collected and to align each of the objectives with the variables to be treated and the analysis techniques applied. Later, the application of improvement strategies is implemented in the packing line and the times of the course of these activities are determined, then, a comparison of the current method with the proposed method is made, in order to give answer to the proposal that guides the development of this project
