Abstract

El presente trabajo constituye un análisis descriptivo que tiene como objetivo examinar la gestión de los residuos en la industria hotelera. A lo largo del mismo se abordarán las normativas pertinentes en el ámbito de la gestión de residuos, detallando los diferentes tipos de residuos generados dentro de los establecimientos alojativos y analizando cómo se gestiona cada uno de ellos. Además, se ofrecerá una visión sobre cómo cada departamento dentro de un hotel aborda la gestión de los residuos. Se destacarán las estrategias y medidas implementadas para minimizar la producción de desechos en la industria hotelera, haciendo hincapié en las prácticas sostenibles y las acciones encaminadas hacia la reducción y el manejo responsable de los residuos. Finalmente se detallará el proceso de gestión de residuos en la isla de Lanzarote. Se pondrá especial énfasis en la red de puntos limpios, destacando su importancia como parte fundamental del sistema de gestión de residuos, y se abordará en profundidad el complejo ambiental Zonzamas, describiendo su rol significativo en el tratamiento de los deshechos y se revelará el destino final de los residuos.

This work constitutes a descriptive analysis that aims to examine waste management in the hotel industry. The relevant regulations in the field of waste management will be addressed, detailing the different types of waste generated within accommodation establishments and analyzing how each waste is managed. Additionally, it will provide an understanding of how each department within a hotel approaches waste management. The strategies and measures implemented to minimize waste production in the hotel industry will be highlighted, emphasizing sustainable practices and actions aimed at the reduction and responsible management of waste. Finally, the waste management process on the island of Lanzarote will be detailed. Special emphasis will be placed on the network of clean points, highlighting its importance as a fundamental part of the waste management system. The Zonzamas environmental complex will be addressed in depth, describing its significant role in waste treatment and the final destination of the waste will be revealed.
