Estudio morfológico del perfil de playa: modelo de perfil de equilibrio en dos tramos

Abstract

El concepto de perfil de equilibrio es una herramienta útil en el estudio de la moifodinámica de playas. Teniendo en cuenta los diferentes procesos dinámicos que afectan al perfil (rotura y asomeramiento), se propone un modelo de perfil de equilibrio, siguiendo la idea propuesta por Inman et al. (1993): perfil en dos tramos. Este modelo ajusta una expresión al tramo de rotura, donde la disipación de energía se debe a la rotura del oleaje y otra expresión al tramo de asomeramiento, donde la disipación se debe a la fricción del oleaje con el lecho. Las formulaciones obtenidas asocian un coeficiente (A y C) a cada tramo del perfil. Dichos coeficientes están asociados al fenómeno de disipación energética y recogen información sobre la morfología del perfil. La validación del modelo con datos de perfiles reales distribuidos a lo largo de la costa española permitió establecer relaciones entre los coeficientes de forma y los parámetros hidrodinámicos y sedimentarios (fundamentalmente oleaje y tamaño de grano). Dichas relaciones le confieren al modelo capacidad predictiva: conocido el oleaje incidente y el tamaño de grano de una playa, el perfil en dos tramos permite conocer la morfología del perfil de playa resultante
