Metodología Elisa para estudiar la estabilidad de medicamentos biotecnológicos

Abstract

Los fármacos biotecnológicos son medicamentos obtenidos a partir de tecnología del ADN recombinante o de la expresión controlada de genes que codifican proteínas biológicamente activas que se emplean en la actualidad para el tratamiento de diversas patologías. A este tipo de fármacos pertenecen los anticuerpos monoclonales de uso terapéutico. El empleo de estos supone un gasto farmacéutico muy por encima del que conllevan los tratamientos con medicamentos de síntesis química; lo cual unido a que la estabilidad de los mismos una vez abierto el vial, está limitada a 24-48 horas según indicaciones del fabricante, hace que la cantidad de fármaco remanente desechada sea muy elevada, aumentando por lo tanto el gasto farmacéutico. El objetivo principal de la presente Tesis Doctoral es el estudio de la estabilidad de fármacos biotecnológicos de uso más común centrado en el estudio de su funcionalidad a través de la evaluación de su actividad biológica; en concreto es objetivo el estudio de la estabilidad de infliximab, bevacizumab, cetuximab y trastuzumab en sus correspondientes medicamentos innovadores y en preparaciones farmacéuticas de uso hospitalario con vistas a aportar datos para evaluar su potencial reutilización de forma segura y eficaz para el paciente.
