Abstract

A Educação Ambiental [EA] tem sido tema recorrente em discussões nas conferências mundiais e também nas escolas, diante do atual cenário mundial de desequilíbrios e degradações ambientais. Mas, inserir a EA nas instituições de ensino ainda é um desafio. Nesse sentido, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo investigar o modo como se efetiva a inclusão da temática da Educação Ambiental no curso de Construção Civil do Instituto Federal de Sergipe [IFS] e sua concretização na ação do profissional da área.Os sujeitos desta pesquisa foram cinco professores, dez alunos e quinze ex-alunos do curso em questão. A pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa, caracteriza-se como um estudo de caso que compreendeu duas etapas integradas entre si. Inicialmente, procedeu-se à análise documental do Projeto Pedagógico e Ementa Curricular, o que propiciou o enfoque disciplinar dado pelos conteúdos para o desenvolvimento de competências e habilidades indispensáveis ao desempenho de atividades com conhecimento técnico. Numa segunda etapa, foram entregues os questionários aos respondentes, no intuito de levantar seu perfil, além das concepções sobre o tema abordado. Os resultados obtidos apontam falhas no processo ensino-aprendizagem, alertando para a necessidade de uma capacitação adequada dos educadores. Ressalta-se a importância da sensibilização, da conscientização e das práticas sobre a EA no cotidiano do Instituto, objetivando ações adequadas quanto à problemática ambiental, buscando soluções que formem verdadeiros cidadãos e profissionais conscientes da realidade que os circunda.

Environmental Education [EA] has been a recurring theme in discussions at conferences worldwide and also in schools, given the current scenario of global imbalances and environmental degradations. But put the EA in educational institutions is still a challenge. Accordingly, the present study aimed to investigate how effective is the inclusion of the theme of environmental education in the course of Construction Federal Institute of Sergipe [IFS] and its implementation in professional area. The subjects were five professors, ten students and fifteen former students of the course in question. The research, a qualitative approach is characterizedas a case study that involved two stages integrated with each other. Initially, we proceeded to the documentary analysis of the Pedagogical Project Curriculum and Syllabus, which led to the disciplinary approach taken by the content for the development of skills and abilities essential to the performance of activities with technical knowledge. In a second step, the questionnaires were given to respondents in order to raise your profile, beyond the conceptions about the topic. The results point out flaws in the teaching-learning process, stressing the need for adequate training of educators. We emphasize the importance of awareness, awareness and practices on EA in everyday Institute, aiming appropriate actions regarding environmental problems, seeking solutions that form true citizens and professionals aware of the reality that surrounds them.
