Abstract

No desenvolvimento deste trabalho pretendeu-se compreender o fenómeno do recrutamento nas redes sociais online. A primeira parte do trabalho incide sobre a revisão da literatura referente aos conceitos de redes sociais, recrutamento e selecção, recrutamento através das redes sociais, redes sociais online e recrutamento nas redes sociais online. Na segunda parte é apresentado o estudo empírico baseado em informações obtidas através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas a gestores de recursos humanos responsáveis pelo recrutamento, bem como entrevistas a candidatos a emprego por via das redes sociais on-line. Este estudo permitiu concluir que o recrutamento nas redes sociais online é um fenómeno recente, pelo que nem todas as suas potencialidades estão desenvolvidas. Os gestores de recursos humanos referem esta nova ferramenta como um facilitador e acelerador do processo de recrutamento, sendo que é encarada como um complemento aos outros métodos e não como substituição. Os candidatos a emprego que utilizam as redes sociais online referem as redes sociais como uma ferramenta de marketing pessoal e que os põe em contacto com um número elevado de empresas e ofertas de emprego.

The aim of this work is to understand the recruitment phenomenon in online social networks. The first part of the work is about a review of the literature regarding social network concepts, that is, recruitment and selection, recruitment through social network, online social network and recruitment through online social network. The second part presents the empirical study based on information got from semi-structured interviews to Human Resources managers, who are responsible for the recruitment, and on the other hand to applicants for a job through online social network. From this study, we can conclude that the recruitment through online social network is a recent phenomenon which does not develop all the potentialities. Human Resources managers refer to that new tool as a facilitator and accelerator of the recruitment process, and it is considerated as a complement of other methods and not a replacement. The applicants for a job that use the online social network refer to it as being a personal marketing tool that enables them to be in contact with many enterprises and jobs.
