A metrópole apresenta-se hoje como um território de fragmentos heterogéneos, produto de um sistema de contrastes sociais que faz com que diferentes realidades tendam a isolar-se em subúrbios resultando num espaço de desequilíbrios. Estes são aspetos que se verificam numa análise física e social da Cidade da Praia, uma cidade em crescimento, mas que ainda carece de qualidades que possam ser atribuídas aos tecidos urbanos. Assumindo os aspetos que contribuem para a constituição dos diferentes fragmentos, o projeto pretende explorar os seus limites visíveis (representados pelo espaço físico), e invisíveis (representados pelos diferentes contextos sociais), tornando-os mais ténues através de uma proposta de espaço publico qualificado. Um espaço através do qual se estabelecem continuidades pela abertura de eixos de ligação entre o formal e o informal. Num segundo gesto, esses eixos são pontuados com um edifício que materializa o maior interesse comum da população, a música. Este trabalho propõe assim um parque urbano e um edifício de exceção que funcionem programaticamente como espaço de troca de experiências sociais e culturais, valorizando aspetos essenciais à urbanidade.

ABSTRACT: The metropolis presents itself today as a territory of heterogeneous fragments, product of a system of social constrasts that makes diferent realities tend to isolate in the suburbs resulting in a unbalanced space. This are aspects that you can verify in a physical and social analysis of Praia city, a growing city, but that still lacks qualities that can be atributed to urban tissues. Assuming the aspects that contribute for the constitution of the diferent fragments, this project intention is to explore its visible limits (represented by the physical space) and invisible limits (represented by the diferente social contexts), making them more thin through a qualified public space proposal. A space through which continuites are estabelished by the opening of axes connecting the formal to the informal. In a second gesture those axes are pontuated with a building that materializes the biggest common interest of the population, music. This work proposal is a urban park and building that can work programmatically as a hub of social and cultural experiences so that apects essential to urbanity can be valorized.
