Porosidade urbana no Jardim Botânico de Lisboa

Proposta de criação de novos acessos e requalificação de acessos existentes

Porosidade urbana no Jardim Botânico de Lisboa

Abstract

Along the city of Lisbon, we observe an significant accentuated set of ‘barriers / obstacles’ in terms of accessibility and routes, associated with its unevenness an relief. The northern slope of Cotovia, now occupied by the Botanical Garden (Jardim Botânico de Lisboa), is one of these ‘gaps / obstacles’. The present Master Final Project corresponds to a proposal for the reformulation of some accesses to the Botanical Garden of Lisbon (Jardim Botânico de Lisboa), in order to allow its crossing in an expeditious but controlled way. After an initial reading of the place, in order to identify the possibilities and needs of the intervention, three different proposals were developed: a) a new access from Parque Mayer, in articulation with the proposals of the urban masterplan in force; b) a new access from Rua do Salitre; c) the requalification of the current eastern access from Rua da Escola Politécnica. For each location it was necessary to formulate a brief with the contribution of the management responsible for MUHNAC and the Botanical Garden. Although autonomous (in space), the proposals are articulated by the paths / crossings they allow and by the coherence of the design options (conceptual, formal, material) combining urban rehabilitation, new construction and rehabilitation of existings buildings.
