Abstract

L'auteur anaiyse, ii partir d'un ensemble de textes légaux, Ie rapport étroit entre le système scolaire et le système politique. I1 montre en particulier comment les projets d'éducation s'articulent aux nécéssités de la bourgeoise montant et comment, pendant la période fasciste, des oscillations de la politique éducative traduisent des contradictions ii l'interieur du regime même. Ensuite, i1 discute les differences entre fréqueníation scolaire obligaíoire démocratique et non- -démocratique, en montant comment cette dernière fut une des caractéristiques de la situaiion scolaire portugaise. En liant Ceci avec l'échec scolaire, i'auteur conclut que celul-ci était l'un des buts du système scolaire. but avoué parfois, même au niveau de textes ministériels.
