Abstract

------ ABSTRACT ------ In order to discriminate areas of parental concern we started from the hypothesis that parents are concerned, on the one hand, with children’s developmental and emotional issues, and on the other hand, with problems related to parenthood exercise or function. We have had been developing an instrument of evaluation to accomplish this purpose. Now, we present the results of a questionnaire presented to 302 participants, parents of children between 0 and 12 years old that were submitted to factorial analysis for the construction of a scale, in order to validate its psychometric properties.. The results obtained show valid coefficients of internal validity for the total scale itself and for the 5 different sub-scales that were found. These 5 sub-scales consist of Family and School Problems, Child Development, Death and Moving, Fears and Negative Behaviours.
