This article deals with pedagogy of monsters, brought up mainly in Jefrey Cohen’s theses, in order to analyze adolescence. By doing this, it discusses narratives on the subject of “ being adolescent” originated in disciplinary fields such as psychology and biology. The main goal of this paper is to present the adolescent process as a cultural construction, as opposed to the naturalization of adolescence. In such manner, it discusses the production of social and cultural identities, highlighting, in this production, the categories of gender and sexuality.
Este artigo se estrutura sobre a pedagogia dos monstros, principalmente abordada pelas teses de Jefrey Cohen, para analisar a adolescência. Desse modo, discute narrativas sobre o ser adolescente oriundas de campos disciplinares como a psicologia e a biologia. O objetivo central do texto é demonstrar o processo adolescente como uma construção cultural, em contraposição à naturalização da adolescência. Nesse sentido, problematiza a produção de identidades sociais e culturais, enfatizando, nessa produção, as categorias de gênero e sexualidade.
