The Master Plan Program is essentially an inventory of past and existing conditions, an interpretation of this data, and using the findings to make projections into the future. With this body of knowledge, a number of desirable planning goals are determined which, when analyzed in written form and appropriately mapped, comprise the Burlington Township Master Plan.As a result, the Land Use Plan, the Circulation Plan, and the Community Facilities Plan are of paramount importance for guiding future township development and therefore become an integral part of this summary report. It should be understood that these three Plans are based on the many technical studies published during the past eighteen months. Also, to draft a series of plans alone does not automatically lead to plan implementation. The Land Use Plan is principally implemented through the Zoning Ordinance; the Circulation Plan through the Official Map Ordinance; and the Community Facilities Plan through a Capital Improvement Program. Desirable land development goals are implemented through the Land Subdivision Ordinance. This report, in presenting a summary of the Master Plan, presents a summary of the technical data and the written recommendations in addition to the three Plans.During the plan preparation stage, rough draft Land Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances have been prepared, a basis for drafting an Official Map Ordinance has been provided, and procedures for establishing a long range Capital Improvements Program have been developed.
