Abstract

La critique filmique et la théorie du cinéma ont coutume de traiter l’expérience relationnelle entre les différents agents producteurs du film comme accessoire, relevant, au mieux, de la « petite histoire » du tournage. C’est à condition d’affranchir le film de son histoire propre que ce dernier peut faire l’objet d’une expérience esthétique supposant l’autonomie de l’oeuvre devant le regard du spectateur. Or il me semble qu’au contraire, notamment dans le cinéma documentaire, on aurait intérêt à considérer cette « petite histoire » de plus près, pour parvenir à décrire une expérience esthétique qui reposerait sur la perception d’une figure et d’un désir de communauté tant du côté production que du côté réception. Ce qui demande de ne pas prendre en compte uniquement le point de vue du cinéaste dans la réception des films, mais aussi celui des personnes filmées. Se trouve alors en jeu une sensibilité commune à la possibilité et à l’événement d’un être-en-commun. Il sera dès lors possible de souligner la pertinence d’un nouveau paradigme, celui du don dans les rapports sociaux, pour relancer l’étude des films documentaires sur la voie d’une socioesthétique plus attentive à leur spécificité.
