La participation des salaries a la gestion est restee un phenomene tres minoritaire, cantonnee a quelques experimentations. En revanche, la participation des salaries au capital a connu un developpement important, surtout au cours des vingt dernieres annees. Or, la gestion participative s’appuie de maniere indissociable sur la combinaison de ces deux dimensions. Cet article se donne pour objectif d’analyser historiquement le cas emblematique d’une entreprise ayant mis en place des structures originales de gestion participative afin de degager certaines conditions permettant la reussite d’un tel projet. Nous soulignons notamment le role fondamental de l’engagement personnel du dirigeant, mais aussi l’importance de la dimension psychologique dans la reussite de ce projet d’entreprise.
