Abstract

La Arqueología del Departamento de Lima. Este libro fruto de largos y pacientes estudios realizados por el autor en el campo de la Prehistória Peruana, representa una notable contribución al conocimiento de la Arqueología del Departamento de Lima. Aparte de las informaciones obtenidas por el Dr. Pedro E. Villar Córdova mediante el estudio metódico de la vasta literatura histórica, geográfi ca y arqueológica del Perú, contiene muy valiosos datos sobre la localización de los principales monumentos arqueológicos; una descripción somera e interesante de ellos; apreciaciones acerca de su estilo y edad aproximada; e importantes leyendas, mitos y tradiciones del saber popular indiano. Considero muy laudable el esfuerzo del autor y digno de todo encomio. Sin apoyo económico ofi cial, venciendo nó pocas difi cultades, ha culminado una obra que será valiosa fuente de consulta para los que se interesan por el estudio de la Historia Patria Lima 12 de setiembre de 1935
