The lingual frenum is a fold-shaped anatomical structure, which is located between the belly of the tongue and the floor of the oral cavity, connecting them. In some cases, this brake may be short, preventing the organ from moving properly. This abnormality is called Ankyloglossia, popularly known as tongue tie, which in addition to the difficulty in moving the tongue, can also compromise speech and chewing. The present work consists of a clinical case report of a 9-year-old male child who sought care at the IAES Pediatric Dentistry degree for the treatment of Ankyloglossia.
