Análise multidimensional da pobreza rural no Brasil

Abstract

Objetivou-se com este estudo mapear a pobreza rural brasileira sob uma perspectiva multidimensional para o ano de 2009 através da elaboração de uma medida multidimensional capaz de ordenar os estados brasileiros quanto ao grau de pobreza rural, além de identificar os atributos que mais contribuem para o problema. A técnica fuzzy e uma ponderação de pesos relativos foram usadas para construir o índice de pobreza. Os resultados confirmam que: as áreas rurais dos estados pertencentes às regiões Norte e Nordeste atingem o maior grau de pobreza; quanto aos pesos e índice unidimensional, identifica-se que para 25 das 27 unidades da federação, a posse de fogão e radio ou TV são os indicadores de maior peso e, portanto, demonstra baixa privação relativa destes bens e serviços por parte dos domicílios rurais; a condição de ocupação e conhecimento demonstrou ser os atributos de maior contribuição para o índice multidimensional.
