Farmacocinética y Farmacodinamia en la Clasificación Antibiótica: Fundamentos para la Elección Terapéutica

Abstract

La resistencia bacteriana representa una amenaza para la salud pública, causada en gran parte por el uso indiscriminado de antibióticos. Para elegir de manera efectiva un tratamiento, es fundamental comprender la farmacocinética y la farmacodinamia. El estudio busca analizar la farmacocinética y farmacodinamia para mejorar la elección de antibióticos, identificando los principales grupos y su mecanismo de acción, describir los factores farmacocinéticos que afectan su eficacia y revisar cómo la farmacodinamia orienta la selección del antibiótico. El estudio se desarrolló bajo un enfoque documental y descriptivo. Se identificaron los principales grupos de antibióticos y su aplicación según el tipo de infección, entre estos betalactámicos, aminoglucósidos, macrólidos, quinolonas, tetraciclinas, sulfonamidas y glicopéptidos. La eficacia clínica depende de factores como absorción, distribución, metabolismo y excreción, así como de interacciones con alimentos y proteínas plasmáticas. Además, la farmacodinamia determina la dosificación óptima, diferenciando entre acción dependiente del tiempo o de la concentración. La clasificación de antibióticos según su mecanismo de acción facilita la selección terapéutica adecuada y reduce errores en la prescripción. Conocer la farmacocinética permite ajustar dosis y prevenir interacciones que afecten la eficacia. Comprender la farmacodinamia asegura esquemas de dosificación que optimizan la erradicación de patógenos y disminuyen la resistencia bacteriana.
