Thermogenesis data

Abstract

The data set contains upper body thermal images and continuous ECG data for forty to fifty minutes. The data set also contains the temperature and pressure of exhaust breath and axillary temperature. The thermogenesis effect on diabetes is observed from the capillary blood glucose (cbg) data of twelve T2DM subjects.ECG: The ECG was collected by an ECG-Amplifier coupled with an Arduino UNO with a sampling frequency of 182 Hz.Axillary temperature: LM-35 records the temperature under the armpit (axillary) at 1.2 Hz. The sensor records the axillary temperature for 1.5 min as the reading saturates at 35.5 ◦C to 36.04 after reaching the steady state; it provides the rising transient response of temperature. LM-35 was then kept at ambient temperature for 1.5 minutes to get the initial temperature.Thermal Images: A KT-150 IR camera captures thermal images of 120 pixels × 120 pixels, with a spectral range of 8–14 µm and a resolution of 0.1 ◦C. The emissivity (ε) in KT-150 was set to 0.98 for all images resembling the emissivity of the skin. Each subject has 32 images except subject-3 with 24 thermal images. There are four experimental conditions, such as pre-normal (N1), 1st phase of hand clasping with raised thumb (HCRT1), 2nd phase of hand clasping with raised thumb (HCRT2), post-normal (N2). Each experimental condition lasts for 12 minutes. Therefore, it has eight thermal IR (TIR)-images in .jpg format. Subject-3 alone has 6 thermal images per each condition. The images are stored as per the following naming convention:Subject Number-Image numer.jpge.g.-subject4_10.jpg - means the second TIR image belongs to HCRT1, 3 minutes past.Breath velocity: The anemometer measures the maximum velocity of the breath at the end of each session of N1, HCRT1, HCRT2, and N2.Breath temperature and pressure: MEMS barometer measures the temperature and pressure of the breath at the end of each session of N1, HCRT1, HCRT2, and N2 for one minute, recorded at 1000 Hz.CBG: Contains CBG-value of 12 type-II DM subjects, before and after the intervention of hand clasping with raised thumb (HCRT).
