Abstract

The aim of this project is to present a history of School nursing. School nursing is an outgrowth of the Visiting Nursing Movement. Modern public health nursing had its inception in Liverpool in 1859. It was under the able leadership of William Rathbone, but it was a direct outcome of the work and teachings of Florence Nightingale. School nursing was the first type of specialization of public health service.
