Este artículo propone una reinterpretación crítica del devenir social, político y económico de un territorio que, por su singularidad y riqueza mineral, despertó un fuerte interés y una expansión violenta del capitalismo minero en manos de ingleses y chilenos. Se formula una mirada crítica del proceso minero que acontece en la época de la postguerra, analizando sus derivaciones económicas, políticas y sociales en el otrora Departamento del Litoral de Bolivia. This article proposes a critical reinterpretation of the social, political and economic evolution of a territory that, due to its mineral richness and singularity, raised a strong interest and a violent expansion of mining capitalism in the hands of the British and the Chileans. The paper offers a critical approach to the mining process during the postwar period, analyzing its economic, political and social derivations in the former Bolivian Litoral department.
