Abstract

Considerando a centralidade da corporalidade nos fenômenos histéricos, o presente ensaio tem por objetivo apontar e refletir, a partir dos estudos iniciais de Freud acerca da histeria, mas percorrendo também seu posterior desenvolvimento teórico, sobre o acionamento da noção de “corpo estranho” em suas obras. Da estranheza dos especialistas da época ao corpo acometido pela conversão, à concepção psicanalítica de um corpo não apenas biológico, mas também pulsional e erógeno, a noção originalmente do campo médico utilizada por Freud parece oferecer um fio condutor que permite refletir sobre a sua construção teórica, sobre a mudança epistemológica de uma abordagem positivista das neuroses para uma abordagem psíquica, e sobre o próprio desejo de Freud de encontrar respostas para as perguntas que as afecções neuróticas impunham.
