Conflict is a situation inherent to human interaction. The strategies employed inits handling determine the positive and negative effects it produces. In this article different strategies useful to solve conflict efficiently and a negotiation model based on the interests of the parties is presented. Management based on interests tries to produce an agreement that satisfies the needs of each of the parties. It can be carried out by the parties in dispute themselves or with the assistance of a third party, the mediator.
