Abstract

Las experiencias de los estudiantes en las clases de Educación Física están estrechamente vinculadas a la adopción de un estilo de vida activo. Por ello, desde la perspectiva de la Teoría de la Autodeterminación, el objetivo de este estudio fue examinar si la satisfacción de autonomía, competencia, relación social, novedad, y variedad del alumnado puede predecir las experiencias obtenidas en las clases de Educación Física. En el estudio participaron 164 estudiantes de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (Medad = 14.13; DT = 1.33; 54.3% chicas). Los resultados del análisis de regresión mostraron que la satisfacción de autonomía, competencia, y novedad predijeron las experiencias positivas del alumnado. Por su parte, la satisfacción de relación social y variedad no predijeron dichas experiencias positivas, a pesar de las correlaciones positivas entre estas variables. Estos hallazgos subrayan la importancia de que el profesorado de Educación Física diseñe e implemente especialmente estrategias de apoyo a la autonomía, competencia y novedad para fomentar las experiencias positivas en las clases de Educación Física.
