Abstract

As plantas cítricas são atacadas por aleirodídeos (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), grupo de insetos sugadores que sugam a seiva das folhas, comprometendo o crescimento e qualidade dos frutos, principalmente pelo crescimento da fumagina. As espécies que ocorrem em Santa Catarina são as moscas-brancas Dialeurodes citri, Dialeurodes citrifolii e Aleurothrixus floccosus, bem como a mosca-negra-dos-citros Aleurocanthus woglumi. As ninfas e ovos de aleirodídeos são encontrados na face inferior das folhas. O manejo integrado inclui a promoção do controle biológico natural por parasitoides, predadores e fungos entomopatogênicos, além de medidas culturais e químicas que, apesar de terem efeito temporário, são necessárias em infestações severas. No Brasil há inseticidas registrados para A. floccosus e A. woglumi. Os citricultores devem realizar monitoramento nas épocas de brotações para evitar surtos populacionais e perdas na produção.
