Huanglongbing: possível ameaça à citricultura catarinense?

Abstract

Resumo - O Huanglongbing (HLB) é a principal doença dos citros no Brasil. É causado por bactérias do gênero “Candidatus Liberibacter” e transmitido pelo psilídeo-asiático-dos-citros, Diaphorina citri. Os sintomas do HLB são mosqueamento nas folhas (clorose assimétrica no limbo) e amarelecimento de ramos, além de os frutos mostrarem maturação irregular, deformação, sementes abortadas e queda precoce. Detectado no País no ano de 2004, o HLB já foi registrado nos estados de São Paulo, Minas Gerais e Paraná. Seu manejo é baseado em plantio de mudas sadias, produzidas em viveiros protegidos, redução do inóculo da doença pela eliminação das plantas sintomáticas e monitoramento e controle do vetor. Em Santa Catarina não há registro de ocorrência do HLB, porém o psilídeo D. citri já foi detectado, o que torna necessário levantamento do vetor e da eventual presença da bactéria nas regiões citrícolas do Estado.
