Tipología de las publicaciones en Health Services Research: Revisitando el concepto y ámbito de trabajo

Abstract

RESUMEN: Objetivo: Analizar la tipología de los trabajos publicados en las revistas de mayor impacto en el área de “Health Services Research” (HSR). Diseño del estudio: Estudio descriptivo, con un abordaje cuantitativo y cualitativo. Para el análisis cuantitativo se utilizaron indicadores bibliométricos. Se utilizó un programa de análisis de texto que permite explotar grandes conjuntos de textos mediante búsquedas de carácter contextual o estadístico. Fuente de información: se seleccionaron los artículos con mayor “Impact factor” publicados en las revistas con la temática “HEALTH CARE SCIENCES & SERVICES”. Principales Resultados: Los países que más artículos han publicado en revistas de mayor factor de impacto son USA (41,2%) y Reino Unido (16,7%). Los autores proceden mayoritariamente de las universidades (57%) y de los hospitales (17,58%) y la financiación es mayoritariamente pública (35%). En cuanto a las medidas de resultados utilizadas relacionadas con el paciente, la mayoría analiza la salud global (19,3%) destacando la calidad de vida. Con respecto a las relacionadas con la organización, se han evaluado con una mayor frecuencia las relacionadas con los profesionales (13,6%). El análisis cualitativo, describe los diferentes temas abordados clasificados por subtemáticas. Conclusiones: Los resultados describen la tipología actual de los artículos publicados en HSR, incluyendo aspectos relacionados con las metodologías y poblaciones estudiadas, como las temáticas abordadas. Data sources: the articles selected were published in journals from the first quartile, “Health Services Research” category. Study design: cross-sectional, quantitative and qualitative approach. Quantitative: ISI and Pubmed database fields were used to identify the values. Qualitative: analysis of textual data was performed using the content of the titles, abstracts and mesh terms with the constant comparison method. Principal findings: countries which have published the most articles are USA(41.2%), UK(16.7%).Authors come from universities(57%), hospitals(17.58%). The majority of financing is from state funding(35%).The measure used, relating to the patient was overall health(19.3%),emphasis on quality of life.Relating to the organisation, the evaluation frequently focused on professionals(13.6%).The qualitative analysis describes the different subjects broached classified by subcategories. Conclusions: The results allow identify the field of study of HSR, including methodologies, population groups, as well as the subjects and topics investigated.
