This report present our methodology, findings and recommendations for a series of interviews and a survey on the impact of the development and deployment of software on energy consumption. We present recommendations on minimising full lifecycle emissions of institutional facilities and on optimising code and reducing coding mistakes. In summary, these involve introduction of policies at institutional level, providing support in the form of experts in green software engineering and energy efficient software design, and provide adequate training for researchers as well as experts.
