Os artistas podem inspirar novas explorações e contribuir com perspectivas inovadoras e pensamento crítico sobre como participar ativamente para ajudar a resolver alguns de nossos desafios mais significativos, tais como a crescente crise ambiental. Precisamos desenvolver formas criativas para facilitar uma mudança de paradigma em direção a um amanhã sustentável. O pensamento criativo, ferramentas inovadoras e ações transdisciplinares poderiam trazer mudanças perceptivas, intelectuais e pragmáticas. Com isto em mente, três iniciativas foram lançadas com o objetivo de usar as artes da mídia como um catalisador para gerar uma consciência profunda e criar parcerias de trabalho intelectual duradouras para enfrentar as múltiplas facetas da crise ambiental: o projeto internacional Balance-Unbalance, a "arte! ⋈ clima" (desenvolvido em conjunto com o Centro de Clima da Cruz Vermelha), e a rede EChO. Artists can inspire new explorations and contribute innovative perspectives and critical thinking on how to actively participate in helping to solve some of our significant challenges, such as the growing environmental crisis. We need to develop creative ways to facilitate a paradigm shift towards a sustainable tomorrow. Creative thinking, innovative tools, and transdisciplinary actions could bring about perceptual, intellectual, and pragmatic changes. With this in mind, three initiatives have been launched that aim to use media arts as a catalyst to generate deep awareness and create lasting intellectual working partnerships to address the multiple facets of the environmental crisis: the international Balance-Unbalance project, the "art! ⋈ climate" competition (developed jointly with the Red Cross Climate Centre), and the EChO network.
