Türkiye Merkezli Bir Tartışma: "Reference"ın Türkçesi

Abstract

Öz: Bu çalışmada çoğunlukla Gottlob Frege’nin “On Sense and Reference” adlı makalesi baz alınarak Türkiye’de gerçekleşmiş iki tartışmanın ilki sunularak meseleye başka bir açıdan bakmanın imkânı takdim edilmiştir. Konu edinilen tartışma, Yazko Felsefe Yazıları dizisinde, çağdaş analitik dil felsefesinin en temel terimlerinden biri olan “reference” sözcüğünün Türkçe felsefe literatürüne alımlanışı bağlamında olup, Arda Denkel ile Oruç Aruoba’nın öneri ve iddialarıyla ortaya çıkmıştır. Çalışma, “reference”ın Türkçe’de “yönletim” mi yoksa “imlem” mi olarak karşılanacağı meselesini betimleyerek çözüme yönelik gönderge terimini teklif etmektedir. Türkiye’deki felsefenin tarihinin yazımına küçük bir katkı sağlayacağı düşünülen ve önemli bir dönüm noktasını hatırlatacağını varsaydığımız bu çalışma aynı zamanda tartışmayı güncellemeyi de hedeflemiştir. Acaba biz “reference” sözcüğü ile bir terimi kullanarak o terim ile düşüncede bir duyuma göndermede mi bulunmaktayız; yoksa bir sözcüğün dile getirilmesiyle anlamı olan bir nesne mi imlenmektedir? “Reference”a farklı yaklaşımlar bile ona Türkçede bulabileceğimiz ya da oluşturabileceğimiz karşılıkları tartışılır kılma ihtimali vardır. Bu yönüyle orijinal felsefe metinlerinden kopmadan söz konusu terim üzerinde derinlemesine refleksiyon yapılması gerekmektedir.
