Abstract
SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccines and a viral vector based vaccine have been authorized for use in the US. AstraZeneca’s viral vector based vaccines have been authorized for use in many European countries. Numerous cases of bleeding disorders have been reported following SARS-CoV-2 vaccine administration. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in the US shows 200 cases of platelet disorders following the vaccines. Such cases have also been investigated in Europe following AstraZeneca vaccine administration.
