La comunicación organizacional: un caso de estudio en una universidad ecuatoriana

Abstract

La comunicación organizacional es un elemento que garantiza la promoción, el desarrollo y posicionamiento de las organizaciones. En muchos casos, las instituciones educativas públicas, por ser entidades sin fines de lucro, tienden a aplicar menos estrategias y programas de gestión de comunicación que permitan impulsarlas y posicionarlas en la comunidad. En esta investigación se determina la calidad de la comunicación organizacional entre los departamentos administrativos de la Universidad Estatal de Milagro, Ecuador. Se utilizó un instrumento constituido por 34 ítems, adaptado de Di Nardo (2005), que evalúa la comunicación organizacional mediante variables asociadas a cinco dimensiones: comunicación ascendente, comunicación descendente, comunicación horizontal-diagonal, posibles barreras y retroalimentación El instrumento se aplicó a una muestra de 127 empleados administrativos. Los resultados indican la buena comunicación en los departamentos administrativos de la institución; sin embargo, las variables de la dimensión "barreras a la comunicación" se encuentran por debajo del promedio y ameritan el diseño de planes de acción para mejorar la gestión. Se encontraron correlaciones altamente significativas entre el grado de satisfacción con la condición laboral, el clima organizacional en la institución y la comunicación organizacional.
