The growing importance of tourism data for destination management is particularly evident in the context of new technological developments such as artificial intelligence (AI) and sensor technology, which make a wide range of data available. In order to offer real added value, this data must be processed interoperably and independently of the respective output channel. The AIR project is intensively dedicated to the topic of data management by processing data from various sources and researching the integration and use of data in German tourism. Seven interviews were conducted between November 2023 and March 2024 to determine the status quo in German tourism. The resulting findings were summarized in this short report and supplemented by theoretical studies.
