Abstract

This is a presentation of Juliana Mansur from FGV EBAPE, Brasil during her PRODIGEES research secondment to the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS), Germany. It focuses on the following research questions: What are the role and place of women as entrepreneurs? How are gendered aspects of leadership related to sustainability? Which challenges and barriers do women face as leaders and entrepreneurs? What are the strengths and opportunities in local businesses related to sustainable development? How do local culture and history shape women’s engagement in entrepreneurship?
