Abstract
While the continuing development of newer and more sophisticated medical techniques for evaluating the functions of kidney diseases, it is expected that patients would have a better survival rate, and consequently a more positive outlook. However, such is not always the case as some patients have demonstrated poor coping skills. The present study aimed to construct a test instrument to assess the stage of acceptance and denial among patients with chronic kidney disease to identify the degree of denial among patients as a basis for intervention. A total of 116 participants took part in the study. Six factors emerged from the study which characterised the aspects of denial and acceptance.
