Nas eleições legislativas de 1947, o Partido Comunista do Brasil (PCB) elegeu três deputados estaduais em Alagoas. A vitória torna-se ainda mais expressiva diante das dificuldades enfrentadas pelos comunistas durante a campanha. Este artigo trata justamente desse processo, quando os militantes do PCB percorreram o estado em busca dos votos de uma desconfiada população.
