Abstract

Die Corona-Pandemie hat eindrücklich die Schwächen von Besuchermanagementstrategien auf Destinationsebene aufgezeigt, sofern diese überhaupt existierten. Staus, überfüllte Parkplätze und eine abnehmende Gästeakzeptanz seitens der lokalen Bevölkerung als Folge der pandemisch induzierten Reise- und Ausflugsströme haben bundesweit das Thema Besucherlenkung verstärkt auf die operative Agenda von Destinationsmanagementorganisationen (DMOs) gesetzt. Als wichtige Hebel werden hier richtigerweise digitale Besucherlenkungsmaßnahmen in den Fokus gerückt. Digitale Touchpoints eröffnen zunehmend Möglichkeiten, mit den (potentiellen) Gästen zu kommunizieren und je nach Bedarf über das Bereitstellen relevanter Informationen Besucherströme zeitlich oder räumlich zu lenken.
