Open access: where to go from here? To advance with open access in the Netherlands, it is necessary to look at the qualitative aspects of open access in addition to the quantitative goals and ambitions. In this presentation, I highlighted the importance of enriching the national open access agenda by looking at different dimensions of open access. These dimensions include immediacy, community-driven initiatives, diamond open access, the critical role of open metadata, innovations in open peer review and the use of open licensing. Finally, the importance of recognising and rewarding open scholarly publishing practices will be highlighted.
