autoestima y agresividad en estudiantes peruanos de educacion secundaria

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la autoestima y la agresividad de los estudiantes del sexto ciclo de educación básica regular de la ciudad de Puerto Maldonado, Perú. Materiales y métodos: La investigación tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo, el diseño fue no experimental y el tipo descriptivo – correlacional transeccional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 226 estudiantes que cursaban el sexto ciclo de educación básica regular en una institución educativa de la ciudad de Puerto Maldonado, a quienes se les aplicó la prueba de Autoestima para Escolares y el Cuestionario de Agresión, instrumentos con adecuados niveles de confiabilidad y validez. Posteriormente, las respuestas fueron sistematizadas y analizadas utilizando el programa SPSS® versión 23. Resultados: Se encontró que los estudiantes se caracterizaban por presentar niveles moderados de autoestima (44,7%) y de agresividad (48,2%). Asimismo, se determinó que la autoestima se relaciona inversa y significativamente con la agresividad. El coeficiente de correlación rho de Spearman fue de -0,762 con un p-valor menor que el nivel de significancia (p<0,05). Conclusiones: Es necesario aplicar programas psicoeducativos que permitan desarrollar la autoestima de los estudiantes y se disminuya los niveles de agresividad. De esta manera se estará creando factores protectores en los estudiantes y fomentando un clima escolar saludable.
