Abstract

O objetivo da pesquisa foi discutir a importância do conhecimento histórico crítico-reflexivo da participação de mulheres negras no Esporte como alternativa de decolonialidade dos saberes nas aulas de Educação Física Escolar. Com aporte teórico-metodológico qualitativo, o estudo desenvolveu uma análise documental no campo da História Cultural, tendo abrangido um levantamento digital de dados acerca da participação de mulheres negras no Esporte brasileiro, a partir de publicações no periódico carioca Sport Ilustrado (1920 a 1956). Os resultados evidenciaram que as mulheres negras enfrentaram diversas interdições e arbitrariedades camufladas pelo discurso retórico da democracia racial, por isso, a presença dessas atletas em provas e tendo suas classificações expostas pela mídia, não significa que tenham tido em suas trajetórias esportivas, espaço e valorização equânimes com outras mulheres e/ou homens brancos, em diferentes classes sociais.
