Despite being usually considered as well defined and discrete categories, word-classes in the languages of the world tend to show graduality and fuzzy boundaries. This paper explores, after a brief overview of the history of word-classes, some phenomena in ancient Greek that imply a change in word-class starting from or arriving at the verb category.
