Diseño neoartesanal y cultura material significativa

Abstract

La aplicación de los métodos de diseño puede posibilitar la escalabilidad de la oferta de los productos artesanales, lo que resulta en la generación de valor y la apertura de nuevos mercados. En caso contrario, la reducción de costos en la búsqueda de la estandarización y la falta de nueva oferta de productos artesanales puede llevar a la desaparición de las técnicas y del conocimiento artesanal. El objetivo de este estudio es la definición de un método de vinculación entre un proceso de diseño y la producción artesanal mediante talleres colaborativos enfocados en la generación de cultura material significativa. Se presenta una propuesta para el desarrollo de los productos neo-artesanales, resultado de una serie de talleres colaborativos entre artesanos y diseñadores mexicanos. La colaboración ocurrió en el marco del Programa para el Desarrollo de la Productividad y Competitividad del Sector Artesanal del Estado de Querétaro en el año 2017 y evidencia el potencial que ofrece la inclusión de herramientas de diseño dentro del praxis artesanal.
